Canon is the entirety of facts that are absolutely true within a given context, that context usually being a specific piece of media. Canon can include both in-universe (such as what Vivica does in Stealing Starlight) to out-of-universe facts (like the singer of the remix of Wish Now being Skylar Stecker). Examples of canon within Star Darlings are that Vega is an only child, Sage and the Journey to Wishworld is the first book in the main series, that Scarlet is voiced by Sarah-Nicole Robles, and that Astra is from Gleemington. Examples of things that are not canon are that Libby and Adora are cousins, that Starling Academy is located on Wishworld, and that Vivica is voiced by Scarlett Johansson. Star Darlings Wikia only accepts contributions that are canonical.
What is Star Darlings canon?
Canon in Star Darlings is any and all information relevant to it that is considered true. This includes the following:
- Information from the formerly active Star Darlings website.
- Associated social medias such as Instagram.
- The animated series and books.
- Merchandise descriptions.
- Production information from credits, companies, and people who worked on the franchise, as well as the word of the creators Shana Muldoon Zappa and Ahmet Zappa.
There is no hierarchy for what is and what is not canon based on the medium. For example, The Power of Twelve and Gemma and the Ultimate Standoff depict the events of the Star Darlings going against Rancora quite differently, but each one is still worth describing as both are canonical in their respective mediums. Character, location, and objects pages may be written with all of this in mind, giving an overview of the titular subject.
What isn’t Star Darlings canon?
Information that isn’t canonical is anything that cannot be found on or from the sources listed above. This includes fanon and headcanons, which is acceptable in discussion posts, blog posts, comment sections as long as it isn’t stated to be canon, and Fancontent Promotions. Any information added to the wiki that clearly is not canonical will be deleted.
