Negatite is the physical form of negative wish energy. Starland scientists theorized that extreme amounts of negatite can counteract positive wish energy. Negatite can also affect a Starling's positive attitude and turn it into a negative one. When Lady Rancora was a student at Starling Academy, she was exposed to a Bad Wish Orb,
History[]
After Cora traveled to the wish-neutralization center to destroy the orb of bad wish she had contributed to, she first stumbled upon a black rock - negatite, which she had taken with her. At first, Rancora was surprised by a powerful energy that seemed to come from this mysterious black rock that she had picked up on her fateful first visit. The rock seemed to attract her and encourage her to use her powers. Then she started looking for information about her and discovered what exactly she had in her hand: unlike a ball of goodwill, which turns into a wishful flower after fulfilling - with or without the help of a wish-granting - a wish-forgiveness, black rocks called negatite form from the ball of bad wish. She also learned that she was able to grind her rock into a powerful powder: evil magic dust.
Rancora has learned a lot about the potential of negatite, including from the holo-book My Negatite, My Self, or The Magic of Negatite. Thanks to the power of this dust, she was able to change her character, among others, in a flash. She also used it to fertilize the plants she grew in the Negatite Garden.
After collecting enough negatite, she created a potion that changed her external appearance, thanks to which she could become Lady Cordial and start her revenge plan. After about a year at the Starling Academy, she found out about Lady Stella's plan for twelve Star Darlings. This could frustrate Rancora's plan, so she returned to Isle of Misera to find a way to frustrate their mission - with three holo books, she created negatite energy-soaked key rings, nail polish, and flowers to disrupt them.
