Libby’s Wish Mission is the second of twelve wish missions to take place in the Star Darlings book series. Libby's mission takes place in the second book Libby and the Class Election.
Story[]
Preparation[]
Selection of the Wish granter[]
Libby received a holo-text of the second identified wish orb in her room after returning from auditions for Leona's band. She immediately got up from bed and went to Lady Stella's office. This time they did not go to the Wish Cavern. Instead, the wish orb would come to them. Lady Stella asked the Star Darlings to sit at the table and close their eyes. Only one of the orbs they saw was real, while the rest were illusions. One by one, the wish orbs vanished into thin air, except for Libby's.
After the meeting, the girls stayed a little longer in the office to undergo a quick training in Wishworld costumes and riding a shooting star and to hear some advice on recognizing wishes and their wishers.
Journey[]
At the Wishworld Observatory Deck the following morning, Libby waited for a shooting star with her safety star glasses. Meanwhile, the other Star Darlings wished her luck. Lady Cordial handed her a pink backpack with a glitter star attached to the zipper. Lady Stella reminded Libby to check her Wish Pendant regularly, discover her secret power, and check the mission clock. She also assured Libby that she would monitor all indicators, and in case of problems, she would send her support immediately. Attached to the star, Libby headed to Wishworld.
At one point in the journey, her star-zap informed her about the change of identity, so she chose a previously prepared outfit and recited a special spell.
Mission[]
Search for the Wisher[]
After changing her appearance and landing on Wishworld, she folded the star and put it in her backpack. Then she used her star-zap to find her wisher. Upon reaching her destination, an adult wishling stopped her. Libby dealt with her similarly to Sage - thanks to the mind control powers young Starlings can use on adult Wishlings, urging her to direct her to the correct classroom. On her way to class, Libby noticed Ava's boring election posters and Kristie's colourful election posters.
During Libby's first class, there was a school trip to the aquarium. On the way, she learned about the elections in which two best friends are running against each other. On the bus, she met Waverly, who was campaigning for her, and she later introduced her to Ava. When she checked her wish pendant, it glowed brightly.
Ava's campaign[]
After making sure that Ava was her wisher and talking to her, Libby tried to guess her wish, assuming it was to win the election. She had 48 hours until the end of the mission, but Libby focused on the sea lion show and visiting the aquarium for the time being.
After returning from the trip, Mrs Blackstone gave out thick math books for homework. Ava puts the book in her bag, saying she wishes she didn't have homework. Therefore, Libby decided to fulfil her small wish. On the schoolyard, Libby joined Waverly and Ava, where the girls discussed the campaign. Waverly accused Ava of not taking them seriously. They disagreed about the campaign - Ava liked the joking slogans of her opponent. Offering help with making new posters, Libby invited herself to Ava's house.
At home, Libby and Ava came up with catchy and funny poster slogans, which, however, were not liked by the serious Waverly. Eventually, Waverly convinced Ava of her vision, starting with the posters. Meanwhile, Libby made a few wishes, which made her very tired.
The next day at school, Libby found out from Ava why she and her friend had signed up for an election; it was supposed to be just a fun competition. After a while, that changed: Holly took care of Kristie's campaign, and then Waverly offered to help Ava, and it suddenly turned out that the two were not talking to each other.
During dinner, Libby discovered her power was to change one item into another. After leaving the school cafeteria, they noticed that someone had drawn a moustache on each of the posters. Libby, trying to smooth the situation, came up with an idea for how to save them. The final effect was very successful for the rest of the students.
That night, Libby spent the night in a special tent brought from Starland, which she set up thanks to her Star-zap. Thanks to her power, she transformed hundreds of twigs and sticks into fake moustaches. The next day, she packed a surprise and went to meet Ava and showed her conjured fake moustache.
Discovering the true wish[]
During Kristie's official election speech, Libby was surprised to see Sage. Her friend explained that Lady Stella sent her, who was concerned about her empty wish pendant. Libby assured that Ava was the correct wisher of the wish, to which Sage said she had mistaken what her wish was. After a moment's thought, Libby agreed that Ava wanted to be friends with Kristie again.
She immediately ran up to Ava and told her she knew what she wanted. She wrote a few extra words to her speech just before her performance. During the speech, Ava said everything she felt - that Kristie Chang would be the best chairman and that she quit her candidacy by casting her vote for Kristie. After loud applause, Kristie entered the stage. She said that because of the campaign, she too lost sight of what was most important to her; her friend Ava. She also added that if there were no objections, she would like to be the chairwoman with Ava, and they hugged each other. Thanks to this, Ava's wish came true. Libby said goodbye to her wisher and then returned to the Starland.
Aftermath[]
Back at Starling Academy, Lady Stella tried to present Libby with her wish orb. Before she could, however, she received urgent, terrible news and postponed the event for another day.

Wishworld Observations[]
- Some Wishlings are rude. And some are quite nice.
- Wishlings seem to always be in a big rush to get someplace else.
- Figure out mysterious Wishling greeting involving raised fists.
- Don't leave Wishworld without seeing some penguins.
- Star-Zaps work as actual phones on Wishworld.
- Wishling food apparently does not keep constant optimal temperature and needs to be stored in large cooling devices.
- Everyone must try pizza!
- Sometimes wishes are wishes. But then again, sometimes they aren't. Be careful out there; it's hard to tell the difference.
