Amy Keating Rogers is an American television writer who is best known for writing episodes for the series Powerpuff Girls and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Amy left the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to become a full-time writer at Disney and to write for the show Star Darlings.

Biography[]

Born and brought up in Los Angeles, Amy Keating Rogers earned her B.A. from Occidental College and her M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts. At the Padua Hills Playwrights' Workshop and UCLA, she continued to develop her writing skills.

Craig McCracken, the man behind The Powerpuff Girls, approached Amy about writing for the show when her critically acclaimed play, The Stuff, made its debut in Hollywood. She was given the position of Head Writer of The Powerpuff Girls after working as a freelancer for the show for six months. Amy continued to write for the show throughout their time on Cartoon Network, and during that time, The Powerpuff Girls received four Emmy nominations.

Amy wrote The Powerpuff Girls Scholastic chapter books "All Chalked Up" and "Powerpuff Professor" while she was employed at Cartoon Network. Amy also dabbled in the realm of comics, penning multiple Powerpuff Girls adventures for DC Comics, as well as "Creature Teacher" and "The Powerpuff Girls Guide to Being a Superhero" for Golden Books.

Amy wrote for other animated series after leaving Cartoon Network, including Danny Phantom, The Fairly OddParents, Paw Patrol, and Ben 10: Omniverse. She served as the story editor for both Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot and Care Bears and Cousins. However, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the programme Amy is most well-known for penning for. Amy is presently the Story Supervisor for Disney Publishing Worldwide's New IP Team.
